This slice is one of the quickest sweet treats to make and there is no baking required. Yes it is full of naughty sugars, but this is a treat and will always be a crowd pleaser, whilst getting you out of a sticky situation.
½ Cup sweetened condensed milk
125g – (half packet malt biscuits) – crushed
125g – (half packet arrowroot biscuits) – crushed
1 Cup dried fruit (apricots, raisins, cranberries, sultanas, dates etc.)
In a small saucepan, add the butter and condensed milk. Stir them gently until the butter has melted. (set aside)
Combine all of your dry ingredients together.
Lastly combine your condensed milk mixture with your dry ingredients.
Press into a greased and lined baking dish. I line it so once it has been refrigerated I can remove from the dish, cut into slices then place into either a plastic container or jar.
You can add almost anything to this recipe, I have added almonds, pistachio nuts, even dark chocolate bits – anything you can think of or anything you have in your pantry. You can even add cocoa to give it a chocolate flavour.
The key ingredients are the condensed milk/butter as they will bind your slice and once refrigerated hold it all together.
You can also ice this slice should you wish.
